You've reached the home of traditionally reared pork
based in the heart of East Sussex.


We specialise in rearing our pedigree rare breed Berkshire pigs on a traditional diet which is totally natural,and free of any additives or GM materials. Our pigs are also given Kent acorns, Sussex apples and sweet chestnuts, naturally wild herbs found growing on our land and as much surplus fruit and vegetables as we can gather!

We pride ourselves on being able to say truthfully that we know exactly where the meat has come from and are very proud to say that all of our pigs are purebred pedigrees. This is so that we have a full record of all our pigs’ lineage, thus producing completely traceable, beautifully succulent pork with outstanding crackling!

 Our pigs are reared outdoors, have a traditional farm made pig ark and are kept in groups of a maximum of ten piglets until four months old and then in groups of a maximum of six growers until ready to finish.

We are now offering an ‘own your own pig’ package, which means basically that you can choose your pig, be kept up-to-date on the progress of your pig, be totally assured that your pig is completely naturally reared and at six months old will be butchered locally (10 mins away) and be prepared ready for you to collect.

 

Should you decide this is for you, once a litter has been born we will contact you and invite you to select your pig.  The pig is then ear-tagged with an individual number so that you know it is your pig.  The pigs are wormed organically and in the event that your pig may become poorly or require medication, which will then make it unfit for human consumption, we will offer you another pig as an alternative.

Of course if you want a pig straight away, we can usually meet your needs and you'll still have the peace of mind knowing that your pig was kept in a traditional way, slowly raised to produce the best pork.  Alternatively, we can supply meaty sausages and other cuts to your order.

A whole pig usually costs £275 and typically you will receive at least 45kgs of quality meat (half a pig usually costs £150), so that represents excellent value.  Everything is inclusive!

Remember, this is not commercially factory farmed pork, this is rare breed pork traditionally reared outdoors with the highest standards of welfare and as naturally as possible producing a variety of cuts/joints and proper old fashioned crackling with no air miles!  All of our pigs are treated with respect and we always make sure they are happy and comfortable.

 

We will also this year be producing rare breed lamb and rare breed beef plus, Norfolk Black Turkeys and Geese ready in time for Christmas.
